Acupuncture for Allergy Relief!

Spring is here and I know for many of you that means allergies!  This can manifest as stuffy or runny nose, itchy eyes, sinus pressure and headaches and overall low energy.  Acupuncture and Chinese Herbs can help ease these symptoms and strengthen your immune system so your body does not react to so many pollens and grasses.  In just one treatment, I can relieve sinus pressure and stuffiness, headaches, and itchy eyes.  Chinese herbs can be used in a capsule or liquid form to help in between acupuncture sessions.  This is much healthier way to treat allergies than with over the counter medications that can become addictive and stop being effective.  Please call or email today so we can set you up to get through this allergy season with ease!  Happy Spring Everyone!!

The shoulder joint is one of the most commonly overused joints in the body. The infra spinatus and supra spinatus muscles shorten with use and cause the rotator cuff to get worn out. I am writing about this as summer is coming and we overuse the shoulder by summer activities such as swimming, yoga, gardening, and paddling. This causes pain across the top of the shoulder and often radiating down the arm. This is definitely NOT something to be ignored as it will not heal itself, the rotator cuff gets torn and surgery becomes necessary - AVOID THIS!!

Treating the shoulder with Acupuncture

Acupuncture can effectively treat the shoulder by releasing muscle spasm and increasing circulation in the shoulder joint to heal the strained rotator cuff. This is a simple treatment, but requires consistency and patience as the shoulder heals slowly. But you want to seek out treatment before your shoulder pain gets worse. Signs of this are decreased range of motion, especially raising your arm overhead or reaching back to put on a seat belt.

Limit your activities that are causing pain in your shoulder and make an appointment for acupuncture. I can also put you through a series of tests to diagnose exactly what is impinged in your shoulder and make a treatment plan that is individualized for your injury. Don't let shoulder pain limit your summer fun - come in for a treatment now!
